It's a long video that deserves an introduction. This is the story of the creation of an artwork that was installed at the Hiroshima Museum of Contemporary Art. Most of the video is about the fabrication of the custom "Nixie tubes" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nixie_tube https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nixie_tube) that are used. The video is simple, factual, and a wonderful example of extreme craftsmanship. If you'd like some text and still photos before you try the video, you can start here: https://www.daliborfarny.com/project/umashimenkana/ https://www.daliborfarny.com/project/umashimenkana/.
- tuukkah 3y agoThat clarifies a lot. So when they talk of "H tubes" they mean their model H (for Hiroshima) nixie tubes which are huge (height 135mm) compared to their previous model R or R|Z568M (for "resurrected" German Z568M from the 1970s; height 50mm I believe) that they produce for sale. https://www.daliborfarny.com/project/rz568m-nixie-tube/ https://www.daliborfarny.com/project/rz568m-nixie-tube/
