Elon has said it is better/safer then a human.
- yreg 3y agoElon claims a lot of crazy stuff, but do you have the original source in context? Because autopilot is not autonomous and no one claims it to be. It e.g. cannot solve crossroads or react to traffic lights. So I guess he either said that about FSD (which would still be questionable but at least not nonsense) or he meant that drivers using autopilot assistance have in general less crashes than drivers who don't use it.
- katbyte 3y agoYea he does, which is the problem. People will hear the claims and believe them, go out buy a car, then die or kill someone’s because of it.
- yreg 3y agoSo no source? Again, no Tesla owner thinks autopilot is full autonomy, since it very clearly isn't. I don't know if you have ever used it, but you would find out after driving a few meters.
- katbyte 3y agoI’m not digging up something Elon has said many times about Tesla autopilot Also right here, in this case, we have a Tesla owner who seemed to think it was, and is dead.
- yreg 3y agoI doubt Elon said what you think he said. And regarding the victim – nah, he knew full well, he was just careless. Many drivers are.
