Electoral graffiti found inside Pompeii house
- poulsbohemian 3y agoMaybe it was campaign headquarters? They wanted some signs where they gathered to help with esprit de corps.
- Spooky23 3y agoAre new things being discovered in Pompeii or just new blogspam or AI dreck? I’ve always found it fascinating and would love to find more comprehensive articles or books on recent discoveries.
- chrononaut 3y agoI believe about 33% of the city remains unexcavated, which you can also see in this Google Maps view: https://www.google.com/maps/@40.7478244,14.4878554,623a,35y,39.29t/data=!3m1!1e3?entry=ttu https://www.google.com/maps/@40.7478244,14.4878554,623a,35y,... - bickfordb 3y agoThe site is huge. It's two miles square
- Daub 3y agoMy favorite Roman graffiti: 'O walls, you have held up so much tedious graffiti that I am amazed that you have not already collapsed in ruin.'
- kouru225 3y agoMy favorite Roman graffiti is “he who does not believe in Venus should gaze at my girlfriend.”
- User23 3y agoMy favorite Roman graffiti: 8====) Lest anyone think I'm trolling, I'm not. It's a remarkably well attested motif in Pompeii and elsewhere.
- olliej 3y agoDon’t forget the scales :)
- olliej 3y agoI saw this headline and thought it would be yet another case of some tourist or similar vandalizing a site but it’s talking about election graffiti from the time.
