- helsinki 3y agoThis is the best content I've seen on HN in years.
- nilslindemann 3y agoBTW, the Trackmania advertised below the video is not the Trackmania used in the video. The Trackmania in the Video is Trackmania Nations Forever from 2008. The Trackmania below the video is a Remake from 2020.
- nilslindemann 3y agoThat said, amazing video. I also saw the previous one and it was very interesting. Congratulations on reaching your goal to create an AI which is faster than you. On your way to the Alpha Zero of Trackmania ^^
- nilslindemann 3y agoWhat was new to me was the sliding part. That it is possible to train the AI with some settings, and then, when it has learned an aspect, change the settings and keep training it with the new parameters but based on the previously learned knowledge. Did not know that this is possible.
- sixothree 3y agoHow do you interface the AI with the game? Is there an API? I can’t imagine there’s screen reading involved.
- mckirk 3y agoThere's also this other variant of Trackmania AI that's trained on the visual content of the screen as the input instead, which I found really interesting as well: https://youtu.be/9juZgQc4D7U https://youtu.be/9juZgQc4D7U
- two_handfuls 3y agoI remember Trackmania. That game was free and installed some DRM nastiness.
- nilslindemann 3y ago"Trackmania" is a bunch of games.
- two_handfuls 3y agoYes and one rotten apple spoiled the bunch.
