Two thoughts:
1. Interviewing is like any other skill, so practice more interviews. Just apply to more places and go through the phone screen. It's painful, but it helps.
2. Maybe drink more coffee the day of the interview? Might help with the conversations (or not, you know you).
- PaulHoule 3y agoMaybe it is my schizotypy but I practice something I call 'shapeshifting' which could be described as 'overlaying your avatar in the physical world with an image'. Through shapeshifting I develop abilities such as playing through the pain, improved functional flexibility, charming other people, etc. Shapeshifts are sometimes ego-syntonic (I feel like they are part of me) and other times ego-dystonic (alien, intrusive, sometimes people I don't really like and that I don't feel they like me, at least at first.) I am working on a new one that is the most ego-syntonic yet. A shapeshift frequently has a list of requirements (sometimes like the materials for a spell in Dungeons and Dragons, sometimes other preparation) and this one has given me the longest yet and I expect the process to be like an actor preparing for a big role. My last one was a highly introverted character that uses very constrained methods of communication (hint: what is the name of my RSS reader?) the new one aims to outperform extroverts at their own game in all respects if only temporarily. One requirement is quitting caffeine completely because I find caffeine impairs my ability to attend to other people even if it helps me fake being an extrovert in my outflows. It is painful but the instructions I've received are clear. (The thing about magic is that you have to do all the ordinary things you'd do because: (i) magic doesn't really repeal the other rules, and (ii) it is part of having your will completely aligned.)
