> The U.S. government did not devolve into a mess, as far as I know. In fact, it started out in https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devolution https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devolution (yes, that's the term).
Very funny. You know very well that I used the term to mean "degraded". If you don't. Well, no point in having a conversation.
> claiming that the U.S. government is less functional than Mexico's, despite Mexico's having better health outcomes per healthcare cost, is laughable.
No, what is laughable is fabricating something I DID NOT SAY and then making a statement while pretending I did say it.
What I said is that the US is different. Every country is different. You cannot take a solution that works for country A and assume it will work in country B. They are NOT the same thing.
> those higher deductibles are anecdotes of people whose deductibles went up so that other people's deductibles could go down.
Triple? No, that's abusive and wrong. Nothing wrong with helping people and sharing in the burden. We are being robbed of the equivalent of a mortgage payment or our kids college fund. That's criminal.
The President of the United States of America promised its people that, if you like what you have, you could keep it. Period. His words. If you think it is right for our politicians to deceive us like that, well, there's nothing I can say to make you understand just how wrong this is and how dangerous it would be to give them more control over our lives.
