I absolutely love the idea. More sensors and IO is the main thing I hope to see in future phones. Like, I'm still annoyed there's no AI powered raman spectrometers in phones telling us where the pollution is, or radiation sensors, UV index detection(Preferably with UVC to catch wrongly installed germicidal lights), etc. Laser distance sensing would be amazing, I wouldn't be surprised if we could even find avalanche victims with radar or at least see studs in the wall by now. I don't actually plan to get the pixel 8 pro, I think I will get the regular pixel 8, but the temp sensor might be the start of a new direction of including more sensors.
