AI threatens to dethrone the 4-year college degree
- MattGaiser 3y ago> virtually impossible for a one-off moment of learning [like a degree] to last an entire career It seems bold to predict that this kills the degree rather than requiring more degrees. People increasingly career transition now by going to get another degree and many schools offer masters programs for this purpose. I am 26. I have a few classmates just getting into the 2nd masters degrees for career transitions or contemplating them (their employers are demanding them to advance and paying for them). In addition, this misses that AI can be used by jobseekers to easily generate experience that sounds right, so as all the information in a resume becomes a lot less trustworthy, that makes the verifiable degree a lot more valuable.
