40 Companies that are beating the West
- lusus_naturae 3y agoSeems like a crypto ad piece? I guess it's a good thing FTX went kaput because then it would have been 1 western company > 40 non-western companies. I guess I am wondering how many non-Western FTXs are out there (Binance?), and if they'll have an easier time speculating with customer cash because of relatively lax regulatory action.
- smcg 3y agoI see 2 crypto exchange companies, the other money apps seem more like CashApp. It's a puff piece for these companies but doesn't seem exclusive to crypto.
- mint2 3y agoMost of these companies are regional version of companies that also exist in the west. Iono but seems like apps focusing on Shopping, delivery, ride-hailing, and payment apps being built by regional companies makes sense and isn’t that remarkable. They’re best suited to navigate the region’s particular laws and culture whether it’s an American company dominating the American market or a Indian company dominating the Indian market or wherever
