- allthecybers 3y agoI saw several 2nd and 3rd level connections on LinkedIn sharing their story of working at AMP and the passion that drew them to this product. They also detailed about being let go without much notice. It almost makes it feel like big tech isn’t the place to really invest yourself in a product these days since the business can kill something in an instant and your job along with it.
- emodendroket 3y agoIn the past they’d typically find a new use for a team on a defunct product, so working on moonshot projects was fairly incentivized even if you thought it didn’t sound the most plausible. The incentive now is to stick with a sure thing. They could regret that down the road.
- difosfor 3y agoHaven't people been streaming live sets using https://www.shoutcast.com/ https://www.shoutcast.com/ etc for ages already? Is that illegal and was this supposed to be a legal alternative or something? I remember running my own little icecast server with some PHP back in the day when MP3s were still new to allow me and my friends at university to stream my music like a jukebox. I think that was around 1998 or so. https://jungletrain.net/ https://jungletrain.net/ is still streaming to this day.
