I'd love the telephoto camera for outdoor shots, but I can't stand the price or the size of the phone. Even with the Google Fi discount of $300, the price($500 with trade-in) is too much to justify.
I guess I'll stick with my Pixel 5A.
- havblue 3y agoYou do get the watch for free with a preorder so you get an extra tiny screen to go with your new gigantic screen.
- tidenly 3y agoUnless the battery is seriously improved I wouldn't pay it much mind. The pixel watch is one of my biggest purchase regrets and basically just sits off on my arm as an accessory.
- havblue 3y agoIt was "free", but I rationalized that I'll have it for exercise and to hopefully reduce the amount of time I look at the gigantic screen. However, the way these purchases usually go is that you can't buy your way to a better lifestyle. So I'll find out eventually if it's just another gadget that collects dust on the shelf. That being said I did want the better camera on the pro.
- buttersbrian 3y agoCheck out best-buy. They are offering $100 more on lots of pixel trade-ins than the google or fi store.
- theunixbeard 3y agoBe warned: The Pixel 5A has a manufacturer defect where they just die out of nowhere: https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/11833075?hl=en https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/11833075?hl=en This just happened to me after 1.5 years of usage of my Pixel 5A. Luckily Google extended the usual 1-year warranty to be 2-years to give free replacements (which I took advantage of and in fact was given a free upgrade to a 6A)... But be prepared for your phone to die out of nowhere.
