I think RIM will still be around in some form for years to come. Simply for one reason: heavy usage in government work and with government contractors due to the security encryption. I could see some kind of corporate white knight come in and swoop in for the rescue. Probably a company with huge cash reserves that will be heavily "encouraged" to do so by the US government.
