If you want some real archeology I recommend Milo from the miniminuteman YouTube channel: https://youtube.com/@miniminuteman773 https://youtube.com/@miniminuteman773

- aappleby 3y agoThe first sentence of the wikipedia entry is literally "Graham Bruce Hancock (born 2 August 1950) is a British writer who promotes pseudoscientific[2][3] theories involving many ancient civilizations and lost lands."
- keepamovin 3y agoYeah, that's what I was sayin' about Wikipedia, man. Hey!--aren't you guy who originally developed SMHasher and murmur? What are you doing these days?
- 2malaq 3y agoWell, if it says so on Wikipedia it must be true.
- keepamovin 3y agoExactly, right? Thanks for sayin' it! :)
- throwaway290 3y agoThat's rich coming from someone who posted the link to Wikipedia in the first place
- keepamovin 3y agoHeh, I get what you mean. I'm not throwing out Wikipedia as a whole, but it does have a certain stance, you have to admit.
- tephra 3y agoI certainly didn't say that Wikipedia claims he is a loony conspiracy theorists (I am though implying that the scientific field of archaeology thinks that) and I didn't mock you, but if anything Graham Hancocks ideas (which are distinct from his person, something you ought to remember). If you think my comment was toxic, well then I don't really know what to tell ya. I find it more toxic for our society to spread pseudoscience like Hancock does (which also has the effect of diminishing the accomplishments of other cultures, making it even worse).

- keepamovin 3y agoIf you don't think it's toxic, I think you just got to think about it (and feel about it) a bit more. Something I ought to remember? Come on, man: you chose what to say, and your timing. How sensitive do you think that is? It's not all just about adjudicating ideas, you have to consider the people, too. It would be good if you just reflect on it, let it work on you a bit, alright?
