It is not lawful to be tried under legislation that did not exist at the time you acted.
- qingcharles 3y agoThis wouldn't be altering the law they were convicted or sentenced under so ex post facto doesn't apply to this, even if that seems illogical. This is a later law that tries to reduce sentencing for some existing convictions, I believe.
