I've been eyeing the HP EliteBook 845 G10 which is completely modular around 1000-1200 Euro (for academics) The build quality is on point, from what I've read.

The build quality is on point, from what I've read. The problem is having to deal with HP.
- brucethemoose2 3y agoHmmm, IDK much about euro pricing, other than that the G14s tend to be horrendously priced over there.
- sva_ 3y agoYeah, 2600 Euro for your model here. And it appears to be soldered LPDDR5 memory. Nice thing about SODIMMs is that you can now even upgrade to 96GB RAM. Maybe more in the future. Thats pretty sweet considering the APU has almost 10 TFLOPS - could possibly load large ml models. I wonder how the thermals are with the 7940HS and RTX 4060 inside a 14" chassis? It must be getting hot under load/throttle down after a while?

Asus uses liquid metal TIM and packs a comically dense heatsink into the 14" chassis. SODIMMs have the caveat of being slow and power inefficient (They need 1.35V where desktop ddr5 runs at 1.1V) due to signaling limitations.
