Show HN: Ask Abe - (More) Credible LLM Legal Question Answering
- spartypkp 3y agoGet comprehensive and structured answers to legal questions from a simple plain text query. See answers side by side with exact source text and links to CA.gov legislature to instantly verify answers. No sign up, no data collection, provide your own openAI API Key because of rate limiting issues. At this project's early stages only the California Legal Code (Statutes) is searchable. Abe is the name of the AI agent and is named after Abraham Lincoln, really leaning into the credible/honest thing. I started this project for 5 simple reasons: 1. It's really painful to research difficult legal questions. 2. Legal Questioning LLMs on the market are either not as credible to use or behind massive paywalls (Casetext) and tailored specifically for lawyers. 3. I think there's a serious problem/stigma of LLM's unreliability/credibility in legal use cases. 4. I think this might be useful. Hopefully for regular people and not just lawyers. 5. I wanted more experience and this is cool to me. Uses OpenAI's embeddings, GPT 4, 3.5, and a lot of disgusting prompt chaining. I'm excited to hear how it breaks and get some feedback on if this is worth pursuing more.
