Exact literal search in Google. Allegedly
With all the current fuss about the decline in quality of Google's search results, and their apparently inventive and creative ways to interpret searches even when in quotation marks, I thought I'd mention something I was shown recently.
It's been documented before, it's been around for ages, you're all going to say it's old hat, but I was one of yesterday's 10,000.
Perform a search, with quotation marks, and you get the results page.
In the header, under the search text box, there are buttons for things like "Shopping", "Images", and so forth ... go further right and you find a small text link marked "Tools."
Click that and you get two options. The second is a drop down with "All results" selected.
But the other option is "Verbatim."
Try that.
