Do it. My gf stopped using Facebook once it became an ad cesspit, but still uses Instagram because at least there's some value there. Switching to ad-free for a paid model, whilst ramping up the ads in the free model (to coerce a switch), should be just the level of corposhittery she would need to stop using the platform altogether.
