I quit after Musk personally intervened to reinstate a user that posted CSAM. The offending material remained online, undetected by automated systems for many many hours, receiving hundreds of thousands of impressions. This strongly indicated to me that Twitter is utterly failing in detecting CSAM. Musk’s decision to reinstate the account indicates that the reason theyre failing is that Musk doesn’t particularly care about sharing of child abuse material on his platform. The blue check changes were annoying but this made using twitter feel straightforwardly unethical.
