Been using MySQL for 20 years. It’s come a long way. What I most appreciate is the replication story with galera cluster, for the last 12 it’s provided us an incredibly stable core for our production system. Few years ago we did some testing with timescale extension to postgrsql and I was very impressed with the single node scalability. We had a hard time with vacuum but I’m sure enough time we’d figure it out and it could be a great solution. In this day I think you can’t go wrong with either solution. Both have an incredible community of documentation and support.
