If the only goal was to make an enjoyable game I believe moving it away from actual RISC instructions and over to something even simpler and possibly more visual could be a way to go. The logic would still be the same, but the text and number based system might just be too foreign to people not used to programming. Might print it out and give it a go though, seems quite fun.
