If the population stops growing wont that crash the economy
and fabric of society as well?
(as long as we define an economy to be healthy as long as it grows,
something that will eventually stop)
States with social welfare and universal education and healthcare,
require there to be X number of people working for every person that
needs resources from the state, or who work for the state.
Plus all the regular spending police, firefighteres, military, courts,
the state itself (politicians, bureaucrats, tax collectors), garbage collection, and so on and so on.
If that pyramid becomes two parallel lines that is not going to work well.
If the pyramid starts inverting, we would be in deep trouble.
