Make a massage simulator.
JK. Took a few tries to figure what that abbreviation means even through chatgpt.
Another try:
Make a site that shows when airplanes are going to be close to your position, and include a dead reckoning-based forecasting functionality that lets you set an alert when any of currently detected planes are going to be passing by in the next ~30 seconds.
HC option: Do this with an SDR connected to the Pi, instead of using adb API's.
- jdougan 3y agoIf I remember correctly, the flight data feeds are on a delay, so I'm not sure just how good dead reckoning would be to get actual current position. A possibly goofy idea would be to use position feedback to train an LLM for ?more? accurate forecasts. eg. it is a fairly likely thing that 737s around Los Angeles will be flying racetracks or in the pattern, maybe some kind of LLM could learn that?
- maxlin 3y agoThe delays aren't a problem because you could do this even if there was minutes of delay due to planes often flying in a straight line. It's true that dead reckoning doesn't work for large distances, but would be mostly correct for ~100km estimations. I once tried something like that for a few hours, the project got stuck but the idea was to predict when a plane will be on a radius from you, then trigger a notification when it should be around the estimated location (and actual "cone" of visibility in my case), but only if the actual position of the plane then is around the estimated location. This way you shouldn't get repeats. Either way, repeats could be easily filtered out in many ways. Point of project was more of a "plane bingo" because for "my country joining NATO" reasons there was suddenly more interesting warplanes flying around visible to my teleoptics from my flat.
