You could place messages around the city for your friends to find; leave reviews of restaurants for potential patrons to read as they're walking by; create scavenger hunts; place images around your house of your loved ones living life (something to reminisce on later); those are just a few. At its core, it's a type of location verification; if I place a kite and you react to it, it proves that you were in (or at least near) that place.
On most social media, the thing you share with the people to whom you're posting is a similar timeline, e.g. if I post on Instagram, my friends and family will see it now or pretty close to now. I'm interested in the question of how our discourse might change if the thing we have in common with our audience isn't time but place. I might not know WHEN somebody will see the kite I posted, but I do know WHERE they'll be when they see it.
