I've never tried programming in them and they're not particularly insulating but you might wish to consider Mechanix Original Tactical Gloves as they come in lots of sizes, fit snugly and don't take away too much dexterity. They do have a massive range though so you might prefer one of the insulating knit versions if you're working in cold temperatures.
