Show HN: Visualize SQL to help faster understand the meaning
SQL is a powerful and popular language, but it can become hard to understand once the queries become lengthy.
We have developed a tool that capture the logical intent of queries in visual diagrams that can help users understand the meaning of queries faster and more accurately than SQL text alone.
You can try it, just copy and paste your sql without schema information.
- owlstuffing 3y agoNice work! Smallish nitpick: > What is the difference between single and double quotes in sqlvisual? >We typically use single quotes or double quotes to enclose string literals. For example, 'John' or "Smith". However, when dealing with identifiers, such as table or column names, we don't use any quotes. If an identifier contains special characters, we can use backticks (`) to escape them in sqlvisual. Why? Particularly if you target ANSI SQL? Almost all dbms default to the standard double quote. And the ones that don’t support it in ANSI mode. I point this out because I think it is enough of an obstacle to effect uptake.
