When I told ChatGPT I was looking for such a novel, it refused to help me. When I reset the context and told it I couldn’t remember the name of the novel, it immediately gave me 2666 by Roberto Bolaño. I have to admit I felt a little judged that ChatGPT refused to cater to what it saw as my overly prurient interest when it thought I was seeking a book recommendation as opposed to trying to remember the name of a novel already known to exist.
