One of Ingle's stunts involved replacing a wheel in mid-air.[1][5] A wheel would conveniently fall off an airplane. Ingle would strap a spare wheel on her back and rendezvous with the "stricken" plane. In mid-air, she would climb to the top of the upper wing of the second plane and transfer to the bottom wing of the plane in distress. She would then climb down to the landing gear and install the wheel.[5][6] This was filmed on at least one occasion.
- Cpoll 3y agoThis is the sort of answer I was expecting. It looks rather authentic, but there are at least 4 cameras, and two chase planes: - There's a shot from the wheel-less plane pointing at the wing, implying it's a planned stunt. - There's a shot showing three planes, implying a fourth.
- FooBarBizBazz 3y ago> she successfully transferred from the wing of one aircraft to the wing of another in mid-air more than 300 times. > She died at her daughter's home on October 27, 1981. Whew. Was afraid all that daredevilry might've caught up with her. Couldn't watch that without cringing like "what happened at a later shoot?" Yet she was fine! And here I am, unable to contemplate a daily commute without calculating pow(probability of avoiding crash, number of days).
