- derbOac 3y agoI find this fascinating; I also think it's a good example of a broader possible phenomenon of "the more extreme an observed value of an individual human attribute, the more likely it is to result from some extraindividual process." It's like some corollary of Goodheart's law.

- kelseyfrog 3y agoIt's the article that makes this claim. > Dr Newman found that clusters of high reported longevity tended to occur in areas where record-keeping might conceivably be more lax, or where residents might have more incentive to claim pensions fraudulently.
