Is Spacelink in breach of contract or not? Who is paying the bill, what are the terms of service? For better or worse, relying on commercial infrastructure for national needs is a bad enough situation, relying on commercial infrastructure of a random (non-allied, non-hostile) nation is even worse. Unfortunately for nations smaller/poorer than the very richest, they won't be able to have the same infrastructure as the richest. Being a space power means being able to have militarily useful GPS, comms, and spy capabilities, being not a space power means not having them.
