Microsoft could supplant Apple as the world’s most valuable firm
- science4sail 3y agoOne thing that I've noticed is that Microsoft, unlike Amazon/Apple/Facebook/Google, seems to have avoided most of the tech backlash. Even LLM criticism seems to have mostly landed on OpenAI. Is this because the news media doesn't see them as a competitor? Is this because "normal" don't think about Windows and Xbox?
- RicoElectrico 3y agoI hypothesize this is because most of MSFT's income is corporate buyers.
- bediger4000 3y agoThe press has always treated Microsoft charitably. I don't know if this is because Microsoft was the first well known big tech company, or because Windows is the standard operating system and everyone just assumes Windows for everything, or if Microsoft's PR (Waggener Edstrom) is just that efficient.
