- quietpain 3y agoFinland isn’t the happiest country in the world, they’re the most sarcastic when filling out a survey.
- hasmanean 3y agoOr maybe they’re the least sarcastic. Every other country in the world has people who just say “yeah life sucks” while enjoying themselves fully.
- alchemist1e9 3y agohappiness = reality - expectations which I believed some countries they have oddly lower expectations which helps boost their happiness self rating. We can see clear evidence of this and one example is matpakke: https://www.vox.com/the-highlight/2019/10/7/20887473/norway-norwegian-lunch-sandwich-matpakke https://www.vox.com/the-highlight/2019/10/7/20887473/norway-... compare that to lunch culture in southern Europe for example.
- anothernewdude 3y agoDifferent cultures have different ideas of what constitutes happiness, so comparing self-ratings on happiness is worthless.
- DANmode 3y agoDepends what you're measuring.
- quickthrower2 3y agoSurvivor bias. Of sorts!
- D-Coder 3y agoAs it appears to have been throughout their entire digestive tract, we can at least conclude that it didn't kill them quickly...
