Luddites used extra-legal methods to try to accomplish their goals, so I don't think the comparison really works.
- fnord123 3y agoI'm not a historian but I think luddites need to be seen in the context of the history of trade unions. Unions at the time existed but didn't have the power they developed in the 1900s. So extra legal means seemed to be all that was available to them; while nowadays people can work more effectively inside the law.
