Mutton is either adult sheep, or, in Indian cuisine, it sometimes means goat meat. I have cooked and eaten lamb, mutton and goat South Indian-style. They are all good. I don't know why more Americans don't eat lamb, mutton and goat, but they are definitely tastier than beef.
