While it's difficult, I fully agree with this idea. Most of my friends are slowly moving to one neighborhood and it's been fantastic. This neighborhood also happens to be one of the few walkable neighborhoods in my city, which helps massively with feeling more connected too. I think while living close to friends is important, we really just need to regularly see friends. It's easier to do so if you live close (or if your city has good public transport like metros or trams).
