This is a classic case of "easier said than done." I live in a transition neighborhood and I take care of my elderly mother, who is rather entrenched. Neighbors come and neighbors go. I made friends with the couple next door and then they left. A long-time friend used to live a scant six miles away and I would walk there on some nights just to visit. Now, he is at a fifty-minute drive. Another friend is about a hundred miles off. We are all at the mercy of our situations.
