I have 3 cats and of them, only one sleeps near me. Cats do their own thing. I have a sofa cushion on my bed so even if she does sleep, she sleeps on it and not next to me. I have a friend whose cat and dog sleep next to her, occupying 75% of her bed. My dog sleeps with my folks, and is usually the sort to go sleep in her own bed if it gets too hot.
