- sacnoradhq 3y agoDA's stopped prosecuting, the police kicked back, corporations weren't interested in improving local problems, and cities imploded. Also, with that much volume of merchandise, it had to be trafficked on Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, and eBay. The Target/CVS I use has 2 armed guards wearing plate carriers who look like they did a tour or 2 in Iraq or Afghanistan.
- janalsncm 3y agoIt’s amazing that DAs stopped prosecuting and police calmed down and retail theft wasn’t actually up. Turns out those things don’t affect retail theft.
- janalsncm 3y agoGoing off the chart, shrinkage due to theft is pretty stable. It’s not up. If anything, it’s down from last year. Anyways, I guess perception is reality. I think what this calls for is ubiquitous retailer facial recognition systems. You thought tracking pixels and cookies were bad? Get ready to be tracked everywhere you go with high granularity. The MGM fiasco was just the beginning.
