1 Yes 2 Yes, positively. I found a better job within a few months 3 Absolutely not. Imo, getting laid off doesn't come with a big social stigma. Professionally - yea, I sugarcoated it for recruiters. But everybody else treated it like I broke my leg: an unfortunate, mostly random occurrence, after which I may need some help. Edit to add, for context: I got laid off from a pivoting startup in a hot market. I suspect my experience would've been different if I was hit in the layoffs over the past year.
