Always interesting to listen to Thiel, despite so much I dislike about
what he does and the goals he seems to harbour.
It does seem like a grand conspiracy theory that science has been
deliberately muted. But I am also of that age where I also feel that
we were on a trajectory in technology that just plateaued for opaque
political reasons.
Computing feels like it was thrown back 20 years by Microsoft.
He blames "woke" diversity, but a simpler explanation is that progress
was put on hold so that money could be made in a more stable and less
disruptive environment.
- drt5b7j 3y agoConfounding variables. Of all the things you could blame, he chooses to blame the thing he started out disliking. Classic bias, he's not smarter than anyone else.
