No, I don't think they invented multitouch, I was referring to the name of the gesture. "Pinch to zoom" is afaik their invention, as opposed to "two or more input points applied to the touch-sensitive display that are interpreted as the gesture operation", as the article mentions. The issue is about naming and communicating UI in an intuitive manner. Which should be solved by acceptance testing.
