Google is very picky about who they hire depending on which org you're being hired for, since you need to basically win a bunch of dice rolls to get interviewers who 1) understand what you're being interviewed for (are you a linux kernel programmer? better hope they don't assign you an Android Java Frontend guy) 2) are good at interviewing (this is a difficult skill!) and 3) don't dislike you for any particular reason
