Russian news outlet in Latvia believes European state behind phone hack
- ggm 3y agoI think the Baltic state's precarious relationship with their bigger neighbour is at root the problem, the specific issues at hand (lack of latvian sub-titling, use of russian geographic neologisms regarding Crimea) are the visible symptom but the underlying problem is being seen to provide safe harbour to an independent russian news agency, and the risks. There just wasn't enough in it for them. That said, with a substantial russian-speaking minority, they may have simply swapped one headache for another.
