Amazon restricts self-publishing to three books a day after AI concerns
- thfuran 3y agoThree books a day is remarkable productivity.
- gus_massa 3y agoWe wrote a "book" of Calculus for the students of the university, but we published it as 5 parts (each with 2 or 3 chapters) so it's easier to buy. We published the 5 part the same day. Anyway, we didn't publish it at Amazon. It's available only at the local shop.
- thfuran 3y agoHow does splitting it into multiple pieces make it easier to buy? That seems like it would make it both less convenient to buy and much less convenient to use. As to the main point, yes publishing multiple books a day doesn't necessarily mean writing multiple books that day, but as sustained rate, the limit is high enough that AI spam would still be able to overrun the platform unless the percentage of bad actors is extremely low. It'd just take a bit longer.
- gus_massa 3y agoYou can buy 1 or 2 parts each month, instead of buying all of them at the beginning of the semester. It followed the official order of the clases, so there was no risk that you have to read one of the last chapters during the first month.
- CrzyLngPwd 3y agoClearly, Amazon is not concerned at all about AI written books. Anyway, it's getting late in the UK and I have two more books to write before bedtime.
