Nitpick, but I think it is from Ancient Greek. A cursory Google tells me the modern Greek descendant is κυβερνήτης/kyvernítis and has a slightly different meaning.
- cgio 3y agoκυβερνήτης is the ancient word too. Maybe they were trying to word play with cube, which by the way also comes from κύβος-kyvos and not kuvos. Exactly same meaning as far as I know, wonder what the cursory google came up as the difference in meaning. Also root for cybernetics...
