I don't believe that anything Google does now - summarization included - will avoid being gamed just as effectively as their current search results have. It's a negative-sum arms race, but if Google (or whoever) wasn't spending the money to fuel the arms race by passing on ad money, who would pay for Google to exist in the first place?
