Why wouldn't you charge when you take a break? That's what I'm saying. You take a break, plug in, leave the car while you stretch your legs, done.
The UK isn't the USA. 600 miles gets you most of the way from Land's End to John o'Groats.
If you're regularly making that trip then, yes, I'll concede you need a massive battery. You probably also want to reconsider your life choices.
