Maybe I'm paranoid about distractions, but my method is to ask one of my kids to walk in a circle around my car while it's parked in the driveway. I'll adjust my mirrors so that the kid is continuously visible, either directly or in a mirror. This is impractical in cars that don't save driver profiles.
