It's just sheer luck I stumbled into this career because I found like programming and designing systems, and I happen to be pretty good at it, and it just so happens to pay damn well, especially to a guy from a lower middle class background. The unavoidable complexity foisted upon the masses by the techno-aristocracy that they are ill-equipped to navigate is staggering. I don't blame them for hating us.
