I see your point and I agree. I wasn't looking at it from this angle. My angle was advancing humanity, nothing regarding beating closed source counter parts.

- TeMPOraL 3y agoCommercial interests advance humanity just fine. We'd arguably be approximately in the same place where we are now, with or without open source - and possible even with better business models in tech than we have now (adtech, surveillance capitalism, SaaS).
